Just let me write.
It’s a simple plea — I’m a seasoned copywriter who joined the advertising and marketing industry to do what I love: To write.
It’s a plea that has led me to exciting opportunities in my career, inspiring a cross-country move to Chicago where I’ve met amazing people who helped me hone my craft.
It’s also a plea that seems to frequently fall on unwilling ears in this day and age. People and programs tell me to just use AI to write a blog or revise a caption. And sure, AI does a fine job, and sometimes I’ll bite when I really don’t want to write a concluding paragraph to the nth blog article for the week. But it’s designed for people who don’t want to write.
Me? I’m built different.
I do this stuff for fun. I write to keep track of my movie hyper-fixations, to report on the best hot fudge sundaes from my journeys, to laugh with and playfully-humiliate my friends, and much, much more.
So I’ll say it again: Just let me write.
